Life
I've celebrated more than 40 years w/high school sweetheart, Carrol, with another milestone coming in May. Raised 4 sons and a daughter, plus a few "extras," here and there for different periods of time. Have about a doz grandchildren from my children, plus a doz or so that call me "Ganny" because of my involvement with their parents as youth.
Worked in Human Resources/Adult Training/Benefits, finally finishing Master's Degree age 48. Retired early (in 05) with great package; still waiting for Carrol to sell our wholesale distributor business and do same.
We travel when he has time, usually to Italy (his birthplace, with lots of family still there,) but elsewhere, occasionally.
Remained in local Community, but not nearly so involved as I was for over 30 years. Over past several years, I've given up seats on State-wide Committees on which ...Expand for more
I had served for several years, "downsizing" my involvement there, also. I am proud to say, our children have picked up contributing in Community service, serving on Boards and being responsible for continued Community activities. (Carrol still coaches rec soccer U19 boys, but we are no longer on Boards, responsible for Programs, etc.)
Spend time reading, napping, crafts, napping, online (especially working geneology,) napping, w/family or napping. (Get the picture? I don't watch daytime television, or very much evening time, either.)
Remain in relative good health. Gave up the fight for "battle of the bulge" several years ago and learned to love all of it, and told Carrol he would just have to love it too. Overweight, but can still package it fairly reasonably when need be. Remain physically active and mentally alert, with a good sense of humor.
